It's 3 hours and counting to tonight's Bruins/Lightning game and I am getting so so excited. This is the closest a home town team has made it to the finals since 1994. 1994.
Let's see -- so in 1994, I was an impressionable youngster at the age of 9, to turn 10 later in the year, eating packed lunches at a cafeteria table. I had a New York Rangers starter jacket. I was about the same height I am now (sad...). I still remember when the Rangers won that year...all the honking, all the shouting, all the Mark Messier, Adam Graves, Brian Leetch, Mike Richter and Jeff Beukeboom I could ever want (On a side note -- the name Priya Beukeboom needs to happen). Even then, I dont think I could be happier. I barely understood how hockey worked but I knew I loved it and here I am today doing things like the following to my cat:
So from Gretzky (currently named Neely during this crucial time for the Bruins) to all of you...
